Utilizing 2.5 acres of land on the West side of Grand Rapids, the Blandford Nature Center Farm has been growing over 40 different vegetables and more than 200 different varieties of vegetables since 2010. We focus on growing healthy, nutrient dense produce through sustainable agricultural practices. We also educate students and families through our farm-related programs.
Growing Practices:We believe that healthy soil = healthy food. We do not use herbicides or pesticides to manage pests and weeds on our farm. Instead, we opt for methods such as row cover, utilizing mulch, crop rotation, cover crops and releasing predatory insects.
